A multi-generational, family-owned company, Emerald Reed Co. specializes in manufacturing oboe and bassoon reeds for musicians of all levels ranging from beginner to advanced. Sibling co-owners, Ben Krabill and Grace Lytle, have teamed up to carry on the tradition of producing reasonably priced, high-quality double reeds.

Over the past 35 years, Emerald Reed Co. has developed cutting-edge precision machinery that allows us to produce consistent double reeds at an affordable price. Emerald Reeds are made with cane grown in the Mediterranean region of France and are mounted on durable synthetic cork staples.
All of our reeds are made in the USA in Washington state. Both Grace and Ben enjoy living in the Pacific Northwest. Grace and her husband Paul have two boys and can often be found making trails in their woods and playing at the beach. Ben and his wife Adrian have a son and enjoy spending their free time in the mountains, hiking, skiing, and camping.
